Principles
I started my career in finance and I’ve read lots of investing masterpieces like, among others, The Intelligent Investor, Principles and Pioneering Portfolio Management.
Here are some of the lessons I’ve learned
Put money into something you fully understand → don’t fall in love with investments
Treat everything like a bet → think in risks and payoffs
Diversification is the only free lunch in investing but too much diversification is useless → focus on a restricted number of multiple bets
Allocate a % of the portfolio to long-term investments and another % to short term bets → mix long-term and short term.
