Real-world assets (RWAs) are fungible or non-fungible tokens that represent traditional financial assets on the blockchain.
This narrative has been the 2nd best-performing narrative this year, outperforming AI.
But the main reason you should keep an eye on it is that they’re the favorite narrative of institutions.
Why?
Tokenization makes a product more liquid, more secure, programmable and interoperable. With funds, this means instant settlement and around-the-clock subscriptions and redemptions.
But, if you're not convinced enough, here are some interesting facts:
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) estimated tokenized assets could reach $16 trillion by 2030 (the Real-World Assets crypto sector has bit over $9 billion in market cap according to Coingecko.
BlackRock launched its first tokenized fund, BUIDL, on Ethereum which is investment in a fund that holds U.S. Treasury bills and repo agreements.
The volume on Google Search trends for RWA is now surpassing Gaming.
